Introduction to hacking

Hacking is nothing but a technical skill set to interfere with the remote system. If we decide to do hacking in real world, then we are liable for any legal ramifications for that. Hacking involves slowing down systems, looking into remote system files, destroying files and systems, and whatever you decide to do.

So what hacking is and who are the hackers?
Hacking is simply a non-conventional way to interact with the system. Again what is the non-conventional way? When designers of operating systems design the operating system, they decide the way in which user is going to interact with system. Following any other way to interact with the system is the non-conventional way. But, these ways are not as simple as they seem in movies.

Hacking in ‘National Treasure’ and ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ is really impressive but totally hypothetical.

Types of Hackers
Basically hackers are classifiedinto three groups:
A.  Black Hat Hackers
B.  White Hat Hackers
C.  Grey Hat Hackers

A.  Black Hat Hackers :
These hackers are the evil hackers who are out there for destroying systems, accessing private information, stealing credit card information.

B.  White Hat Hackers:
These are the hackers who don’t want to harm anybody. They are just for analyzing the network, finding the holes in the network so that they can patch these holes, blocking the Black Hat hackers.

C.Grey Hat Hackers
Most of the hacker’s community percentage falls into this category.
Grey Hat Hackers are basically sort of balancing between Black and White hat hackers.

Ethical Hacking :

Ethical hacking is, I think, a pure marketing term. So these hackers project themselves as the White Hat Hackers; but the question is, are they always a ethical hacker? You can find out more about ethical hacking here:
